Jury duty sucks, especially for being an alternate juror, with no decision power whatsoever.  SO repetitive and i have to try to sneak sudoku on my notepad. 

I know this is SO against the law, but the guy on trial looks like Michael Cera! sigh!

I’m currently in jury duty and they just informed me of something very interesting…

If someone calls you and tells you that they know you have missed your jury duty and they need your social security number, DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM.  They are scammers and they get very aggressive, but ignore them.  Jury duty selection does not involve your social security number. 

I hope i don’t get called in. i already scheduled things this week…

I brought about 50 things to do today…so i should be occupied.

OH yeah…jury duty selection is based on voter registration and your drivers license registration. So if you don’t want to get selected, don’t do either.  but that’s near impossible.

**Boo…I got the worst of both worlds.  just my “janet” luck…I’m the alternate juror which means i can’t even make decisions as a regular juror but have to sit there just as long.  BOO…why didn’t i just fib a little?  I had the perfect opportunity, but i just couldn’t do it.  just another “ugh” moment. 

Do you get paid as an alternative juror?  the five bucks?

Oh well…at least i got a FANTASTIC deal at Nordstrom Rack today…

you know those moments where you’re like…”DRAT! DARN! UGh…. SHOOT!”  or to quote mr. simpson, “DOH!”

I’ve noticed those moments A LOT lately…

Top 10:

10: Having an intense conversation with someone and your phone goes in and out…

9: Watching a really good part of a movie/tv show online and your internet goes dead, or in my case today, your power goes out.

8: printing 500 copies of a brochure and realizing that it’s missing all the bold words…ugh..

7: walking out of the house in a hurry and realizing that you forgot your phone when you’ve driven like out of your street.

6:  working on a project/paper/studying and thinking you have all the time in the world and suddenly it’s 3 am and you’re falling asleep trying to finish.

5:  eat kimchi and beef and then go work out

4:  pay for parking in a meter/or garage and you’re short like 1 dollar.

3:  Find REALLY great parking and realize that it’s permit only

2:  Deciding to take a short cut or beat traffic by taking another freeway or road, but end up taking longer and ending up being more traffic than the freeway you normally would take.

1: 1 point or percentage away from passing a class/test

I can’t decide which one is a more severe “ugh” moment…but all of them stress me out and make me sweaty…

It’s been proven!  AIRBORNE doesn’t work!  It was created by a teacher and her screenwriter husband and they have been given a lawsuit and reimbursing up to 6 boxes of Airborne without a receipt from what I read and understood….

Airborne has agreed to pay $23.3 million to settle a lawsuit over false advertising of its so-called miracle cold buster.

The makers of Airborne, a multivitamin and herbal supplement, will
refund money to people who bought the product. It’s all part a class
action settlement.

The ads claimed the product cures and prevents colds, but an
investigation by ABC News revealed that Airborne’s lone clinical trial
was conducted without any doctors or scientists.

The company will pay for ads in several magazines and newspapers to instruct consumers on how to get their refunds.

I FINISHED MY INTERNSHIP AND PASSED WITH FLYING COLORS!

and they got me Pinkberry for my last day because i talk about the yogurt all the time.  They probably shook their heads at the mention of me…”That Janet…that crazy Asian!” 

They really challenged me and I think i truly grew as a person from this experience.  I’ll tell you all about it if you want to know.

So I got to try Patina (located at the Disney concert hall) during the
Dine LA thing and  I was very surprised and delighted at what I got.

someone told me that I should start one of these blog things…but I don’t think i’m quite as articulate at this guy…

“The succulent beef short rib meat inside the dumplings spilled out and
had me from the first bite. Towards the end of the entrée, I felt a
melancholy, usually reserved towards the last few pages of a great book.”

That’s straight up food poetry.  My reviews would be…”thumbs up,” “expensive,”  “Eh…” that sort of thing…

I had this heavenly goodness (getting better?)  It was described as… “Beef Short Rib Filled Ravioli with Petit Vegetable Ragout and Red Wine Glace”. 
SO GOOD.  Normally this place is like over $50 for a meal, but i got a
steal at $22!  with dessert…which was very disappointing, but all
worth it for that passion fruit macaroon!

 It consisted of a marshmallow, a chocolate,
an orange slice, and a macaroon.

dine LA is F-U-N.

We also tried a place called Boiling Crab this past weekend for some
birthday celebrations.  SO good and SO garlicy…the best kind.  So
this vietnamese owned seafood place in Alhambra sells shrimp and crab
legs and crabs, etc. by the pound and seasons it with seasoning such as
lemon pepper, garlic butter, etc. and they even have the “whole
shebang” option where you can just mix all the options together all
into one bag and you can add extra goodies like sausage or corn and
such.  I say the shrimp makes it all worth it and is the best deal. 
The other things were a little too pricey…

I really enjoyed myself…

I have one more week of fieldwork (3 more days!) and I’ll be D-O-N-E!  I’m so thankful for my experience and i can confidently say that the Lord has taught me SO much and have grown tremendously from this experience. 

Okay. so we’re planning a sushi night with some of my friends from school.  Anyone know if a GOOD sushi restaurant in the LA area?  Preferably in the downtown LA area/USC area? 

So…not having a camera, i stole pictures off my sister’s.

ACK! pinkberry everywhere! they just opened one a block away from my work in Orange (across the street from the Mainplace Mall).  I have yet to try the Rowland one.  Because it’s so accessible, it’s less attractive.  why is that?

who wants to go to Patina with me for the DineLA thing on Thursday for lunch?  I believe it’s in downtown LA.  I have class at 2 so i need to leave right after lunch, but anyone? anyone?
