  • I don’t get it. How do people, especially women look so put together after they’ve ran on the treadmill and pumped some iron?

When I’m done working out I look like a mess.  I’m red in the face, I’m sweating bullets, my shirt is wet and soggy, my hair is fro’y from the sweating and coming out of my hair clips…basically, not very attractive.

And when I see girls, ESPECIALLY blond ones, come off their cardio machines looking pristine and in mint condition and very attractive i might add.  They look like they only need to dab at their face here and there.  They barely have any sweat marks on their clothes and when they do they are in cute little spots like at the small of their back, or between their shoulder blades and not the entire upper half of one’s body.  And since everyone at my gym is blond and beautiful, this is EVERYONE and i don’t feel so good walking around in my sweaty gear. I quickly run down the stairs that are in the middle of the whole gym, surrounded by all the cardio equipment where all the judgey, non sweating people can stare at you.  haha

you know…speaking of which, when I was in volleyball…I sweat like crazy. Like upper and lower half.  I always had to bring a towel after practice and lay it on the car seat b/c i sweat so much.  I remember drinking a gallon of water after practice too.  But did the tall, blond girls look as nasty as i did?  nope! Do they not have pores? or do i have extremely large ones?

Phew…anyway…rant out of the way…all in all, I like sweating. It makes me feel like I’ve done some GOOD cardio and my skin is always excellent and i drink plenty of fluids, it keeps me regular and I don’t huff and puff after walking up stairs or running after fly balls out in left field.  Praise God for health!

    Now my favorite topic…FOOD.
    My new favorite website!!

    http://tastespotting.com/

There are FANTASTIC pictures of different glorious foods that make you drool and grumble grumble and if you click on it, you get to find a recipe! how great is that!

My first experiment were chocolate chip cookies!

    Recipe: http://blogchef.net/chocolate-chip-cookies-recipe/

So simple and SO delicious.  I think the secret ingredient is the instant pudding. It gave it a bit more fluffiness.  It has a bit too much butter and sugar (pudding=more sugar), than i would have liked, but what the hey! once in a while you can treat yourself!  In moderation of course.

If you’re by my house, I’ll give you one!!

  • Magic Mountain:

Hung out with old roommate Serena and enjoyed a nice leisure time at the hottest place on earth. Only it was a nice breezy sunny day for us.  I only dripped for about a couple hours out of the whole day.

After we took this photo with them, “wonder woman” said, “good job!”

Frozen bananas!  One of the best deals you can get at magic mountain.  They dip it fresh for you.  $2.77 pre-tax and then $3 with tax.  I like the sound of $2.77 better…

I’d have to say that X2 and Tatsu were the highlights of the day. X2 even has FIRE!! in the middle of the ride! and surround sound!!  I was so scared I closed my eyes for about 3/4 of the ride and when the fire part came, I got really scared and thought my eyebrows were going to be scorched off.

    i should study…

Congrats Joanne and Danny! one of the most prayerful weddings i’ve ever been to.  At one point, all the pastors at the wedding got up and laid hands on the couple during the ceremony.  very touching.

  • Martha Stewart on her show said that in order to drink her full 8 cups of water a day, she fills up a pitcher of water with fruits (limes, lemons, blood oranges) or veggies (cucumbers) and keeps it at her desk all day and makes sure to drink all of it.

So, i made a pitcher of water with limes and lemons and drank CONSIDERABLY more water that i usually do.

I offered my parents some “SPA” water and my mom loved it and i think my dad thought i said “soothing” water instead of “spa” water because he said it didn’t help him to feel more soothed, but more angry.

And now we’ve kept that pitcher around and have tried different fruit combos like kiwi, cucumber, lemons and keep refilling and refilling and reusing those same bunch of fruits for a few days at a time….hehe. My dad’s always to my mom, “here, have some spa/soothing water.” (he interchanges those two words from time to time).

So,  moral of my pointless story….Drink your water! especially in this heat and supposedly, 80% of headaches are due to dehydration.  I totally agree with this! when i have a slight headache/discomfort, I chug water down and feel 50 times better.

  • Phone conversations=NO GOOD

I had to leave a message for someone i am planning to shadow today and this is how it went…

“So, let me know when your most, i mean, when it’s most, i mean, at your convenience….Oh wow….sorry about that…well, i look forward to meeting, i mean hearing from you.”

I think i need speaking lessons or something.

So…tried out the new toy story ride monday at california adventures (i think it comes out for everyone later on this month) and it was FANTASTIC!! IT’s so much fun! think, buzz lightyear, only 10 times better!  You wear 3D glasses and it’s awesome! and actually a very long ride and i didn’t want it to end!  Check it out when it comes out!

  • HAPPY 22nd BIRTHDAY SISTER!!

    You’re beautiful!

    and look how you’ve grown!

June 4, 2008

  • oh man. i wanted to xanga about SOMETHING! anything! but i’m all tapped out because i do NOTHING except procrastinate and netflix has been my best friend.  On top of that, gas has skyrocketed (is it going to go past 5 bucks per gallon soon??) and also discourages me from going out.  what a loser…

I found out that my parents got engaged 3 months after dating and then 3 months later got married.  how ridiculous is that?  I asked how she knew that he was the one to marry and she replied, “we had similar family backgrounds and we had the same values, i felt comfortable around him, and our money spending habits were very similar.”

Why does my list seem longer?  hahaha

I guess when you know, you know?

Everyone, please watch “How i met your mother.”

It’s a fantastic show and SOO funny!  It’s like friends, but different.  One of the characters is very charming and very much what girls look for in an ideal guy and i believe the producers/writers make him the way he is because they want to hook in the female viewers.

  • I think my parents have an interesting sense of humor.

I’ve been organizing our family pictures and I have some decent ones, but my sister…that’s another story. Not only are there less pictures of her, but i think whoever was taking pictures always tried to capture the “interesting” moments of my sister’s childhood.

    some examples…

    WHY THAT HAIR???

    HAHAHAHHAA

I can’t figure out if she climbed in herself (not surprising) or if my parents put her in there (not surprising either)

Very much representative of my father…

She has A LOT of these…

She had just gotten over chicken pox when we went camping…But she still looks diseased.

My sister’s 2nd birthday.  I LOVE YOU SEESTER!!
