It was my dad’s birthday today and he’s been asking for us to make him Frutti di Mare for months, so we decided that today of all days should be the day we do it. I found the EASIEST recipe for the Bucca imitation of it and it’s pretty good!
Frutti di Mare recipeTo make it A LOT cheaper…Go to the Korean market to buy all the seafood. A bag of precooked and frozen mussels (around 4 bucks) and a bag of frozen clams (around 2 bucks) and HUGE calamari rings (around 4 bucks) and shrimp (4 bucks). So cheap! The most expensive part of the recipe is the stinking clam sauce. Each little 8 oz. can is like 4 bucks! and you need TWO!
Father loved it. He was speaking on the phone during dinner and told his friend how we made him dinner for his birthday and he followed that by saying that we were worth raising for this. haha, my father the comedian.
He really enjoys non Korean food. He says that Korean food is boring and it’s the same old thing. I WHOLEHEARTEDLY disagree. Nothing is better and hits the spot than a good soup and kimchi. I wish I could cook the stuff, but alas…there is no recipe book for that sort of goodness.
On another note, on the last Vegas trip, I spotted two celebrities at the Palazzo playing blackjack!
Joanna Garcia (Privileged and Reba).
They were both canoodling together. How cute.
