My dad asked me today,
“What does hold down the fork mean?”
The funny/sad thing is…I knew he meant hold down the fort, but I only had an inkling of what it meant.
Reminds me of the one time we were required to simulate a life of one with schizophrenia and a mock psychologist/tester asked me what it meant when a someone says, Don’t throw rocks in a glass house.
I didn’t know what that meant as well.
Anywhoo…my parents celebrated their 27th anniversary today and I mooched off this celebration and got a free meal from them. Man, 27 years is a long time and I can tell that they are very much still in love with each other. bleh. just kidding! I only hope that I am blessed with the same. Happy anniversary mom and dad!
Man…working life is rough. Work politics, people pleasing, forced to have a backbone and argue your case, having to be articulate, having to deal with behaviors of kids, deal with parents, teachers, AND having to do therapy on top of that!….It’s not fun. what happened to just working with kids? I have to say that this job is making me get out of my comfort zone and forces me to get over my fears and anxieties and i fervently pray before each hard day to help me and get through the day without an incident.
Five months and no major mishaps yet…aside from one of my 100 pound kids that wouldn’t get off the floor.
